A Gadsden man faces a number of drug-related charges, according to Etowah County Sheriff Jonathon Horton, after Drug Enforcement Unit agents served a search warrant at a motel room.
Harry Adolph Winston, 60, was arrested Tuesday, DEU Commander Kevin Hassell said, and faces the following charges:
Hassell said agents got a search warrant based on evidence of drug sales at the motel room where Winston was staying. He was jailed on $127,500 surety bond; Hassell said he was out on bond from a previous arrest for distribution of a controlled substance at the time of Tuesday’s arrest.
The search of the room revealed a quantity of methamphetamine, heroin, crack cocaine, salvia, marijuana, Tramadol pills and firearms, Hassell said, adding that the arrest came after about three-months of investigation.
The case is ongoing and additional federal charges may be forthcoming, Hassell said. The ECDEU, Gadsden police, the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI North Alabama Criminal Enterprise Task Force were involved in the investigation.
