Morgan County and federal authorities seized 11,000 Xanax pills they said were thrown from the window of a vehicle they were pursuing Friday in Decatur.
A man was charged with drug and other offenses after he allegedly threw a bag of 11,000 Xanax pills out of his vehicle as Morgan County and federal authorities stopped him Friday in Decatur.
Seth O’Neal Lynch is being held in the Morgan County Jail on more than $50,000 bond after he was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and fleeing/attempting to elude stemming from the Friday incident, the sheriff’s office said.
Agents with the office’s Drug Enforcement Unit and U.S. postal inspectors tried to stop him Friday near 14th Avenue Southwest and Thomas Drive Southwest in Decatur for traffic violations, the office said.
As the agents closed in on Lynch, they saw him throw an item from his vehicle. Lynch eventually surrendered at Thomas Drive Southwest and Terrehaute Avenue Southwest.
Lynch was then arrested on a charge of attempting to elude.
After the sheriff’s deputies and postal inspectors got a search warrant for the package, they found the package contained 11,000 alprazolam (Xanax) pills inside the bag. They also found a pistol and cash believed to be from drug sales.
